-New Roofs
Scaffold is erected
around entire property.
Insulation is installed with all new roofs, which significantly
improves energy efficiency and reduces carbon emissions by reducing energy consumption.
When
all new roofs are being carried out your local authority (council) must be notified
by law. This is a very simple procedure, you can go onto their web site, click onto
building control and download the form, fill in and return.
The Roofing Centre will
then liaise with the council officer until works are completed.
You will be issued
with a certificate from the council to say The Roofing Centre has carried out the
works correctly, giving you that extra peace of mind.
- Slating
Slate is a natural
product and is extremely hard wearing and when laid properly will provide a watertight
textured roof lasting for many years.
Being a natural product it has many variations
in texture and colour.
- Tiling
Tiles 49s are interlocking concrete tiles which are
perhaps the most cost effective of the roof coverings. Laid as a single lap, side
by side with the grooves on the underside of one tile resting within those on the
upper side of the preceding tile. They are available in a range of attractive colours.
Plain
tiles come in both concrete and clay form, hand made clay tiles being the most expensive.
Designed to be easily laid. They are available in a wide range of natural colours
and can be laid in a variety of design options.
Pantiles are mainly made in clay form.
Traditionally, they are single lapped with the downward roll of each tile simply
rolling over the upward roll of the preceding tile. Modern pantiles are in both clay
and concrete often emulate the look of the pantile while using the technology of
the interlocking tile.
- Flat Essex Roofing
This range of torch-applied systems is second to none. Whether it’s oxidised bitumen, SBS or APP modified, for new build or refurbishment, there is a solution to meet every budget.
Torch-on membranes have an underside which has been pre-treated with a covering of thermo fusible bitumen. This covering is then heated with a propane gas torch and the membrane is applied to the surface of the roof while the bitumen is still hot
- Lead Work
All lead work is carried out to the highest of standards. Lead work is
proven, when laid correctly, to last up to 150+ years depending on the codes used,
so once the lead has been laid it is there for life...
- Fascia & Soffits
When replacing
fascias, soffits and bargebaords the best option is to fit UPVC. They are available
in white, black and brown. They are maintenance free and just need wiping down with
a damp cloth.
Bargeboard provides a finish to the gable end of your home sealing the
verge. Bargeboards and fascias are manufactured from 19 mm heavy duty board to provide
long life and durablity. Finished with a highly polished surface to reflect heat
to reduce expansion and contractions problems which may occur with thinner boards.
A foamed core makes it lightweight and resistant to water ingress and 5 meter lengths
are used to produce fewer joints.
UPVC have many qualities e.g. excellent weatherability,
self extinguishing, resistance to most chemical products, anti fungi properties,
easy to clean = low maintenance, thermal insulator.
- Guttering
Defective rainwater
guttering can be a source of many damp problems.The guttering and pipe work are designed
to carry rainwater away from your property, if they are not properly maintained,
the water can run down the outside wall, eventually causing damage within the structure.
Often problems are only apparent while it is raining, so keep a look out when it
is raining for any rainwater leaking from gutters or running where it should not.
